Vintage Pine Chest of Drawers – Full of Character

There’s something rather special about old pine furniture that has been allowed to tell its own story.

I spotted this beautiful vintage chest and couldn’t resist bringing it home. It’s one of those pieces that doesn’t need a colour makeover or anything fancy — the lovely aged pine, original features and years of character are what make it special.

I’ve simply given it a really good clean and left the beautiful natural wood to shine.

It has four generous drawers, with two smaller drawers above and two larger drawers below, all finished with their original wooden knobs. I particularly love the turned feet and the lovely moulded detail around the top.

And then there are all the little imperfections…

The marks, knots, variations in the wood and signs of a previous life are exactly what I love about vintage furniture.

The drawers are all functional, although, as you would expect from a vintage piece of this age, they don’t glide as smoothly as modern drawer runners.

I can imagine it working beautifully in a bedroom, hallway, sitting room or even a child’s room. It’s a really versatile piece that would sit happily alongside both traditional and more contemporary interiors. Now ready for it’s new chapter.
