This solid pine chest of drawers has been given a completely new personality with a soft French Grey base, deep blue scalloped edging and a hand-painted trailing botanical design across the drawer fronts.
The pattern has been painted by hand and is deliberately full of character, with each little flower, leaf and flourish adding to the individuality of the piece. Finished with simple matt black knobs, the result is a charming blend of traditional country style and something a little more playful.
The scalloped detailing frames the chest beautifully, while the soft, muted colours make it surprisingly easy to incorporate into an existing room.
With two smaller drawers over two generous full-width drawers, there is plenty of useful storage without the chest feeling bulky — perfect for a bedroom, dressing room, nursery, hallway or anywhere that needs a little extra storage with personality.
As with all furniture from Anne-Marie’s Madhouse, this is a genuine vintage piece that has been lovingly restored and hand-painted rather than mass-produced. The brushwork and small variations in the decorative finish are part of its handmade charm.
